Home-Made Fogger (Fog Machine) - Halloween Props

07/01/2000

Inspired by "Home-made Fog Machine" by Allen Maniacal.

In the days where fog machines were expensive and out of reach for the home haunter, many resorted to building a fog machine from materials around the house. The following pictures, diagrams, and text demonstrate creating a home-made fog machine.

Figure 3-1 & 3-4 depict the completed fog machine. The fog machine casing is made from two bread pans, bolted together, upside face to face, leaving room for the iron inside the bottom half. The heat of the iron is controlled mainly by the "light dimmer" switch bolted to the top of the upper half of the fog machine. A large circular hole is cut out of the front/upper potion of the case and a computer fan is added with the air pushing out of the casing.

Figure 3-2 shows the inside of the bottom half of the casing (bread pan). The iron is supported inside the case by three bolts, each extended the iron close to the top rim of the pan. None of the iron's heating elements touches the pan.

Figure 3-3 shows some of the internals of the fog machine.
